Artist Leah Borden puts the finishing touches on a painted storm drain for the "Storm Drain Art Project" at S. Fifth and E. Washington streets in Goshen. There are eight painted storm drains as a way to share the message to protect local waters by keeping these drains free from pollutants. All stormwater in Goshen ends up in the Elkhart River, either directly, piped or through the wastewater treatment plant. That means verything dropping on the roads, parking lots or piped into a storm drain may pollute the river.
