The annual canning event, organized by the Mennonite Central Committee began Monday and will continue until Jan. 17. Normally 80,000 pounds of turkey are packaged during the nine-day span, Stanley Pletcher, chairman of the MCC Meat Canning Committee said. volunteers are welcome each day.
