Events for the annual National Day of Prayer, May 4, 2017, were announced today by the Goshen National Day of Prayer Task Force.
The Maple City Kiwanis will be hosting a morning breakfast at 6:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army facility, 1013 North Main Street. For reservations contact Dean Devoe at 574-202-6241. Reservations are required for the catered breakfast. Cost is $2.00 at the door.
The noon event will once again be held in Goshen on the east lawn of the Elkhart County Courthouse. It will begin at 11:45 a.m., with a time of worship, followed by members of the local community leading in prayer for the nation. it will finish at 1 p.m. in the case of rain, the location will be changed to LifeSpring Community Church, 116 South Third Street.
For the larger evening event, we will gather for worship and prayer from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the wrest lawn of the Elkhart County Courthouse. An alternative rain location will be announced at a later date.
The theme for 2017 is “For Your Great Names Sake! Hear Us… Forgive up… Heal us! Based on Daniel 9:19,” emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually to call out to God.
