Valentine Schrock, Route 3, Goshen, has grown elephant plants before but never one like this. Mr. and Mrs. Schrock brought the root back from Florida last spring and planted it in the breezeway of their homke west of Goshen. It started growing in June and grew and grew...and grew. Each leaf is about 36 inches long and 28 inches wide. Schrock plans to cut off the plant before he and his wife leave to spend the winter in Sarasota and the root will be planted again next spring.
