Work on Phase I of a sewer and water extension project in the Maplecrest subdivision area began Monday and is expected to be completed within 2 and a half months. Niblock Excavating, Bristol, was the low bidder for the project at a cost of $223,578. The project will extend water lines north from Zollinger Road from Middlebury Street about 800 feet to a point where an existing sewer line ends. Both sewer and water lines will then be constructed on Player Drive, Nicklaus Drive and Highland Drive to Hackett Road. A lift is included in the project. Niblock workers shown above include Rich Niblock, Mottville, at right; John Bowen, Bristol, in the trench and Mike Morris, Bristol, operating the backhoe. They began construction at a manhole near Nicklaus and Player drives.
