Charlie and Jan Tredway waltz to the music of the Goshen Chamber Orchestra, directed by Mike Ruhling of Goshen, at the start of "Swinging at the Spohn" Saturday at the Spohn Ballroom, Main and Clinton streets, Goshen. Organizer Laura Coyne said about 350 people wandered in and out of the ballroom while the orchestra and a big band played. "It was amazing. It was magical," she said. "It just transported us back in time." Coyne credited Paul Schlobohm of The New Klines in Goshen for the event's success. In a variety of positions in various civic groups Schlobohm has been a proponent of the Spohn for more than 17 years. The event raised more than $2,000 for Goshen's Main Street program. Coyne said an encore dance is in the works and the ballroom may be used for an art fair later this summer.
