THE GOSHEN NEWS | August 27, 1974
Things were “quite hectic” in homes and schools in Goshen today as youngsters, parents, teachers and school administrators adjusted from their carefree summer schedule to the opening of school days. Elementary students reported this morning for only an enrollment period, but teachers were on duty for their first full day of school. Just getting to school today was an effort for Gene and Ronnie Hunter, who dropped books and notepaper in the street as they crossed to Chandler School. Gene and Ronnie hurriedly pick up the school supplies while Hector Rivera gives advice and Mrs. Ethlyn Riley, Chandler crossing guard, keeps a watchful eye.
