THE GOSHEN NEWS PHOTO BACK WHEN Dec. 29, 1990
The cold snap right before Christmas was enough to freeze the ice over the pond at Shanklin Park, allowing some to use their ice skates before Friday's warmup and the overnight rains washed away the chances of outdoor skating today. The Rich Meyer famiyl from Millersburg went to the pond with their grandfather, Robert Meyer, 706 Emerson St., and took part in a hockey game on the second day the pond was open at the park. Pictured from left are Jon Alan, 4, Eric, 8, Carl, 10 and Rich Meyer. The four hockey players shown are ready for action, as all four have their hockey sticks on the ice and ready to slap the puck.
