THE GOSHEN NEWS PHOTO BACK WHEN JULY 13, 1983
As the thermometers hold around 90 degrees this week, one of the best places to find relief is at a nerarby lake or pool. Swimming, diving and sailing are sports these people enjoyed Tuesday at Shipshewana Lake, just northeast of that LaGrange County town. While the young people cool off at the platform near the public beach on the east side of the lake, the sailor cruises across the lake in the background. Because News Photographer Tom Roberts used a long telephoto lens when he took this photo, the lake is compressed and the west shore appears much closer than it really is to the east shore. Thermometers hit 91 degrees at Goshen Monday, and it was 88 on Tuesday afternoon.
